In 1987 a group of seven contractors decided to start a partnership and open a building supply store. They purchased land on the Fourth Chute Road in Grattan Township, on the outskirts of Eganville, built a store and warehouse and incorporated the name Bonnechere Valley Builders Supply Ltd. By the end of 1992, the ownership had dropped to four shareholders.
The group of four decided to expand and purchased the Eganville Co-op in 1994. They continued to run this farm supply store from its original location. Later in the year they purchased land along Hwy. 60 in Wilberforce Township. Here they built a larger facility and amalgamated the building supply store along with the feed store in 1995. This location became known as the "Eganville Country Depot." The employees from both locations were brought along to the brand new store, with all its up-to-date computerized amenities.
In 1999, the owners decided to join the Castle group and fly the Castle banner. In 2002 the group again decided to expand and purchase the inventory from the local V&S (Stedmans) department store as it was closing its doors. The store now had a very diverse range of product, from building supplies to animal feed, giftware and workwear, housewares to children's toys. In 2004, one more of the shareholders decided to leave, and the business was run with three shareholders who still continued their contracting businesses as well.
In 2010 the contractors decided to sell the business to C.A. Reiche & Sons. The new owners kept the same staff and it was business as usual with the added benefit of the connection to the C.A. Reiche Store in Pembroke and Keetch's Building Supply in Killaloe, which allowed Eganville Country Depot access to a broader and larger supply of building materials. Expansion continued and in 2012, the owners took on a Stihl dealership and shortly after a Husqvarna dealership as well. Renovations occurred and a small engine machine shop started its operation offering sales and service.
